The project entails the design, construction and operation of a 44 MW hydropower facility on the Bandama river near the Singrobo and Ahouaty villages in Cote d’Ivoire. The project expects to generate 217 GWh of annual production and to operate with a load factor of 56%. The project responds to the government priority of diversifying the energy mix after a surge in recent years of thermal power production. The project increases the portion of renewable energy while improving the sector’s financial sustainability. The project comprises two main components: i) a main facility including main dam, water intake, spillway, power house and tail race channel; and ii) associated infrastructure comprising transmission lines and substation

Mission:

  • ESG coordination and technical assistance to the Energy Platform.
  • Supervision and coordination of the preparation of environmental and social assessments.
  • Stakeholder consultation.
  • Presentation of results and discussion with donors.
  • Preparation and implementation of ESMP and ESAP.
