The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development "EBRD" intends to support Tunisia through the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines of Tunisia for the development of private renewable energy and power transmission projects.

The EBRD plans to finance four solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Tozeur (50 MW), Sidi Bouzid (50 MW), Tataouine (200 MW) and Gafsa (100 MW).

Mission:

Preparation of a Resettlement/Livelihood Restoration Framework for solar projects in Tunisia.

• Review of all relevant existing documents related to the projects, including environmental and social studies and assessments;
• Review of applicable laws, methodologies, and other provisions to clarify legal requirements under Tunisian law, and identify any specific discrepancies with EBRD's RP5 and IFC's SP5.
• Project site visits and stakeholder consultations.
• Analysis of convergences and divergences between Tunisian and international standards applicable to the project.
• Estimation of assets and people affected by the project.
• Preparation of the stakeholder mapping and SEP.
